Ioanna Karli

WHEN Hub Manager

Ioanna is the Hub Manager of WHEN Hub. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology from Panteion University and a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Derby, specializing in Inclusion, Diversity, and Mentoring. The combination of these academic fields stems from her deep conviction that the workplace can and must be a space for equitable growth and mutual support.

Her prior experience in social research and support structures, such as caring for unaccompanied minors, has equipped her to approach the needs of individuals from diverse backgrounds with utmost respect. As a femme-identifying individual who advocates for equality at every level, she believes that managing the Hub is not just a matter of logistics and organization, but primarily about creating an environment rooted in care and safety.

At WHEN, her goal is to actively contribute to the daily operations and growth of the community, ensuring that the space serves as a tangible response to contemporary social challenges. She strives to maintain a supportive environment where every woman and femme-identifying individual can find the resources needed to achieve economic and personal independence, thereby generating a broader positive social impact.

Maria Kotroútsou

she/her

Assistant Project Coordinator

Maria is the Assistant Project Coordinator at WHEN Hub. She initially studied Network Engineering at the University of Ioannina, but her interest in social structures and her active involvement in volunteering led her to shift fields. After completing her first degree, she began studying Psychology and later focused, through further education at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, on Organizational Psychology and Gender Issues in the workplace.

She first joined the WHEN Hub as a volunteer, recognizing the importance of an intersectional approach in addressing gender-based discrimination. Today, through her role, she utilizes WHEN’s methodology and tools to actively contribute to shaping an inclusive culture - one that is free from constraints, discrimination, and stereotypes.

Maria Katsaroú

Mini Hub Assistant

Maria studied Social Anthropology, with main interests in gender studies, gender-based violence, and trauma. She soon realized that raising awareness around issues of solidarity and respect for diversity is of crucial importance in our time. A restless spirit, she began losing herself in the world of books from a very early age. She therefore decided to learn, through creative writing courses, how to use her imagination to build worlds of her own. The outcome of this journey was the collective work of short stories and poems “Μετά Βίας Φωνές”, which aims to shed light—through simple, everyday stories—on different forms of violence.

Her experience as administrative staff in children’s summer camps, as well as her collaboration with children of all ages, gives her inspiration and hope. Full of empathy and passion for social change, she strives to create a positive impact through her work.

Her interests include non-formal education, volunteering, community empowerment, and social policy.
