“Global sociopolitical change and its impact on gender equality.”
An ambassadors’ panel discussion on diplomacy and gender equality worldwide.
We invite you to a unique discussion as part of WHENsdays, on Wednesday, February 18, 18:00–20:00 at the WHEN Hub, where five female Ambassadors from three different continents will come together at the WHEN Hub for a public discussion on global sociopolitical change and its impact on gender equality.
Panel Discussion:
HE Ms Alison Duncan, Australian Ambassador to Greece
Barbara van Hellemond, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Greece
Ciara O’Floinn, Ambassador of Ireland
Harriet E. Berg, Ambassador of Norway to Greece
Sonya Juanita Thissen, Ambassador of Canada to the Hellenic Republic
The panel will be moderated by Stella Kasdagli, Co-Founder of WHEN/inc.lude and author.
The ambassadors will share perspectives shaped by diverse regional and political contexts. The discussion will examine how current geopolitical tensions, democratic backsliding, climate instability and rapid technological change are reshaping gender equality priorities worldwide and influencing how gender equity is discussed, defended or sidelined across different settings, including Greece.
Through this event, we aim to connect gender equality with the major political, economic and social challenges of our time, fostering a reflective, comparative and forward-looking dialogue.
During the event, which will be held in English, free parallel creative activities for children will be provided at the Mini Hub, allowing parents and caregivers to participate with greater ease and presence.
Q&A session with the audience will follow the moderated discussion.
We look forward to seeing you!
