If your job search is keeping you up at night, we’ve got good news: the new Career Counseling program by WHEN is now live – and it’s offered free of charge to anyone who needs it, either online or in person at the WHEN Hub.
Through this program, up to 200 women will have the opportunity to receive support from our organization’s specialized Career Counselor. Participants will gain access to guidance on professional development, strengthen their job-seeking skills, connect with potential employers, and explore self-employment or entrepreneurship pathways.
What does the program include?
Each participant will receive 4–6 personalized career counseling sessions (online or in-person), which will cover:
- Creating or revising your cover letter (in Greek or English)
- Co-developing a personalized career action plan
- Writing or updating your resume (in Greek or English)
- Learning effective job search techniques
- Interview preparation and self-presentation strategies
Who is eligible?
In recent years, women’s unemployment in Greece has remained about nine percentage points higher than men’s, due to a combination of socially constructed gender roles, persistent employer bias, academic paths, and the specific vulnerabilities many women face.
This program aims to empower and support women who are taking their first professional steps, returning to the workforce, or struggling to find employment.
We place special emphasis on the needs of:
- Single mothers
- Long-term unemployed women
- Women aged 45+
- Migrant and refugee women
- Women living below the poverty line
- Women with disabilities or chronic illnesses
- LGBTQ+ women and feminine-identifying individuals
- Women living in remote or rural areas
